Classifications

Classification is determined by the operators of the vehicle(s), members in the household, age, sex of operators and the use of the vehicle(s).

Keep in mind that it is always important to ask questions as well as disclosing all the required information on an application in order to determine an accurate cost of your auto insurance premium.

Class 1A
There are no youthful operators in the household.
The vehicle is not used for business.
The vehicle is not driven to and from work.
There are no operators age 65 or older.

Class 1AS
There are no youthful operators in the household.
The vehicle is not used for business.
The vehicle is not driven to and from work.
The principal operator is age 65 or older.

Class 1B
There are no youthful operators in the household.
The vehicle is not used for business.
The vehicle is driven to or from work a distance of less than ten (10) road miles one way.

Class 1C
There are no youthful operators in the household.
The vehicle is not used for business.
The vehicle is driven to or from work a distance of ten (10) or more road miles one way.

Class 4A
There are one (01) or more male operators under the age of twenty one (21) or more years of age and each such male is either 1 or 2.
        1.  Married
        2.  Not an owner or principal operator of the vehicle.
             (Except where class 5A applies.)

Class 4B
There are one (01) or more male operators under the age of twenty one (21) or more years of age but less than twenty five (25) years of age and each such male operator is either 1 or 2.
        1.  Married.
        2.  Not an owner or principal operator of the vehicle
             (Except where class 5B applies).

Class 5A
There are one (01) or more male operators under the age of twenty one (21) and each such male operator is 1 or 2.
        1.  Not an owner or principal operator of the vehicle.
        2.  A resident student at a school, college or
             educational institution over one hundred (100)
             road miles from place of the principal garaging.

Class 5B
There are one (01) or more male operators twenty one (21) years of age but less than twenty five (25) years of age and each such male operator is either 1 or 2.
        1.  Not an owner or principal operator of the vehicle.
        2.  A resident student at a school, college or
             educational institution over one hundred (100)
             road miles from the place of the principal
             garaging.

Class 6A
There is an unmarried male operator in the household under the age of twenty one (21) who is an owner or principal operator of the vehicle.

Class 6B
There is an unmarried male operator under the age of twenty one (21) but less than twenty five (25) years of age who is an owner or principal operator of the vehicle.

Class 7A
There is an unmarried female operator in the household under the age of twenty one (21) who is not an owner or principal operator of the vehicle.  The vehicle is not used for business.
 
(Please Note:) 
 
If all of the unmarried female operators are resident students at a school, college or educational institution over one hundred (100) road miles from place of the principal garaging then the otherwise class 1A rate will apply.

Class 7B
There is an unmarried female operator in the household twenty one (21) years of age or more but less than twenty five (25) years of age who is not the owner or principal operator of the vehicle.  The vehicle is not used for business.

If all of the unmarried female operators are resident students at a school, college or educational  institution over one hundred (100) road miles from place of the principal garaging then the otherwise applicable class 1 rate will apply. 

Class 8A
There is an unmarried female operator in the household under the age of twenty one (21) who is  an owner or principal operator of the vehicle.
The vehicle is not used for business.

Class 8B
There is an unmarried female operator in the household under the age of twenty one (21) or more but less then twenty five (25) years of age who is an owner or the principal operator of the vehicle.
The vehicle is not used for business.

Class 9
There is an unmarried male operator in the household twenty five (25) years of age or more but less than thirty (30) years of age who is an owner or principal operator of the vehicle.
The vehicle is not used for business.

Class 3A
The is no male operator in the household under the age of twenty five (25).
The vehicle is used for business.
